Introduction
Hello! You've found my portfolio, probably from the link in my resume or from a job application.
- To get to know more about me personally, see the homepage.
- If you haven't seen it yet, check out my resume.
- If you would like to contact me, I have contact details in the Colophon.
The portfolio displays my notable projects and accomplishments, covering the technologies and skills I used to accomplish the task. There are TL;DRs for the fast readers out there, but I also go into the details and break things down. Read on to discover!
StrongDM Implementation at Caseware
In 2022 after working on the implementation and rollout of the StrongDM Privileged Access Management (PAM) tool at Caseware I was interviewed by StrongDM for a customer testimonial. One can see the change that I helped develop at Caseware and the broad reach of the tool across the company.
I enjoyed my time interfacing with the team at StrongDM. Though my position was Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Caseware, I took the lead on the implementation of this tool, liaising with the StrongDM team to communicate user stories and improvements, and to inform the team and Caseware of improvements and changes that were coming down the StrongDM development pipeline.
AWS Cloud Pipeline
In 2021 during my studies at the University of Guelph, I developed an interdisciplinary project that combined the learning from two classes together. The project involved LING*3020 Linguistics and Technology and CIS*4010 Cloud Computing. I designed a pipeline to help Linguists collect source code files into a corpus for further study. I built the pipeline in AWS using cloud technology. I was approached by the UofG College of Arts to record an overview and demonstration of the pipeline.

Award for Implementation of New Relic at Caseware
I am very grateful to announce that I was awarded the 2020 Ian Pavlinic Memorial Award for Innovation Co-op Student of the Year in Computing by my manager and team at Caseware for the work I had done while working as a co-op student on the DevOps and InfraOps teams. Specifically, I led the deployment and rollout of the New Relic observability tool company-wide. This tool was rolled out to over 400 engineers and had infrastructure agents that were installed and configured on over 500 machines using Ansible roles and playbooks that I developed.

Websites
While it is not my main Computer Science (CS) discipline right now, I have always enjoyed making websites and trying to learn frameworks and patterns in my spare time.
skoretz.ca (this)
This website has been my main focus for the past few months. I have really enjoyed working in a Python ecosystem using Pelican as the static-site generator. I have also been able to apply my AWS knowledge into making this a fully serverless website. All of the infrastructure for the site is declared in Terraform or Serverless Framework, and deployed to AWS.
- The skoretz.ca Colophon page has more information.
- The architecture diagrams below show the website and networking architecture, the email subscription service, and the publishing service. Please note that there are two diagrams, use the > arrow to see more.
Alfor Wiki
Alfor was a world-building project to create a fictional setting for an eventual Dungeons & Dragons campaign. It is a static website built with Vue and VuePress.
- Visit the Alfor homepage and check it out.
- The Alfor Colophon page has more information about the website's architecture.
- The Alfor GitLab repo and source code are public.
UofG Work Term Reports
As a co-op student at the University of Guelph, I had 5 work terms of 4 months each for a total of 20 months of workplace experience during my studies in Software Engineering. As part of the co-op program, we were also tasked with making a personal website and writing Work Term Reports about our experiences at the co-op work terms.
- Visit the nskoretz homepage and read the Work Term Reports about my time at Symcor and Caseware.
- The nskoretz Colophon page has more information about the website's architecture.
- The nskoretz GitLab repo and the source code are public.
